When I first read this sentence, I sat still with it to delve into its meaning.
At first, my mind couldn’t really make any sense of it. For me, this means that, while everyone is moving past you, living their lives, you sit still, immobilized – paralyzed. The lack of presence is debilitating, but you’re not alone. This feeling can come up from a wide array of emotions. Anxiety, fear, worry and depression keep us from living our best life.
For me, I kept adding things to my to-do list. The anticipation of needing to always be doing something to reach success, especially out in LA, was taking over my life. No matter what silly stories my friends would tell me I would still come back to this inexcapable cloud of anxiety. I'd like to think of my self as a perfectionist-which can be good for some but quite the opposite for others. I was the special case in which it wasnt working for me. I did attempt to nurture my spirit and mind with soundbaths, journaling and meditation but it wasnt coming from a source of enlightment. Instead it was the anticipatory anxiety that motivated me.
Perception shift
People talk about their source of motivation coming from hardships like divorced families, critical hardships, or raising children. These people don’t have the luxury to ruminate on heavy emotions when you have a child that requires food on the table or youre busy caring for a sick relative. These highly motivated people don’t have any other choice in life. Their only choice is to make it. Everyone on the planet has a story and is going through it. When you realize this it can help shift your perception of whatever you're going through. How can you adopt the same principles without needing a serious life altering event to push you?
Accessing discipline and confidence is key. Especially if youre lucky to not be in any serious or grave danger. We're all more powerful than we think. Affirming this truth is the way out. Acknowledging that youre strong- that you are you're own source for the healing you seek. Its not hard and it shouldnt feel like its out away from you. The truth is its all readily availble to us-only if we look in the right places.
Get real with yourself
You need to access a new and fresh way at facing life. Your current circumstances will change for the better. There's so much influencing our daily lives from work, friends, family or lovers. This is why having consistent reflection and consistent evolution within your self is necessary to keep up with life.
The present moment is all we truly have. We can’t live or dwell in the past and we can’t go back in time to change any outcomes . Let’s stop romanticizing the idea that the future will rescue us from our present reality-it won’t. Sure you can have goals and dreams to work towards but when it becomes your only source of hopeful happiness- that’s when the issue arises.
“Presence is when you’re no longer waiting for the next moment, believing that the next moment will be more fulfilling than this one.” - Eckhart Tolle
On healing
No matter what you go through,
there’s always a reason to keep going.
I’m not saying to heal within a week, a month, a year. You take your time but while you’re healing and dealing with all this mess- keep nurturing you.
There’s plants and trees that can withstand harsh weather conditions yet they still require sunlight and water. We’re also like those strong plants and trees. This is your reminder to keep going for you, for your boyfriend/ girlfriend, your furry best friend and for the world. We’re all beautiful because we all have the capacity to change, to grow, to inspire, to make a difference.
No matter who you are or what you have done in your past.
Take all this with a grain of salt!. It’s perfectly fine not to be fine all the time. No one knows what theyre doing-at all. I'm lucky if i remember to take my laundry out of the wash. Sometimes the solution is as easy as putting your phone down and just taking a breath. Do whats best for you in this moment. Adopt what you need ifrom this for yourself and enjoy the trek of life!🤍🙏🏽🌎✌🏽😀
