I was inspired this past weekend on my mini vacay. My boyfriend mentioned something about having to endure pain to yield the result you want. He wasn't talking about anything philosophical but about his tattoos. I immediately turned to him and said " you just inspired my next blog post"! When god calls you always answer-no matter what time it is.
Pain, worry, fear can be linked under the same umbrella in my opinion. Theyre all associated with an "ick" type of feeling. When you're in that head space- it can be easy to drown in that pain. In that moment all we see is that worry, fear, anxiety- magnified with no sight of hope. In the face of adversity, pushing through it seems like the most difficult task. The process to heal isnt about running away from any of the emotions that may come up. Welcoming that feeling on your way towards healing is the solution. It is not just an acknowledgment but a new way of thinking and believing.
"You are not sick, your body is adapting to help you through a difficult life situation. When you resolve that your body will go through a period of restoration and return to homeostasis." -Dr. Melissa Sell
Dr Melissa Sell is a Health and Mindset coach that i discovered on instagram. In a nutshell, she has a realistic and biological approach to mental health. She breaks down physical and emotinal conficts in a simple, no filter approach. The natural law is we have control over the experices we encounter. The thoughts, and feelings we access will greatly influence our state of being. Think scary thoughts, your life will be scary, Think joyous thoughts and you will attract more joy! The mind, body and soul connection is maluable. We shouldnt be afraid of the unkown. Had I known this during the toughest times in my life I wouldve felt alot more prepared and ready to deal. No one should be afraid of the pain, suffering or whatever you want to call it, this is invetible. Once you're able to accept the power of the mind- you can have whatever you want-NOW!
"How we spend our days is
how we spend our lives." -Annie Dillard
Practicing good coping skills now will prepare you for the tougher times. Were such complex beings that require structured mechanisms and tools to check in ourselves. How do you handle fear, worry and pain? Do you just sit on your bed wallowing in pain or do you feel still and unable to escape your thoughts? This is part of the journey. Forcing those emotions out and not sitting with them will only make matters worse. Speaking from experience I often dwell on the thought of why am I feeling anxious, then I ruminate on that and it spreads like a wild fire. Instead of focusing on healing / main issue aim focused on the why? It doesn't matter why you're anxious or sad or in pain. What matters is the realization that it's happening and allowing it to run its course.
Practice being grateful for the pain. Yes you read that correctly. Say youre grateful for the worry, anxiety, fear- all of it. You and I are lucky beneficiaries of this game of life. What comes with that is the not-so-good feelings. Things could be alot worse. You could be dead and incapable of feeling anything! Since youre alive and fully capable of feeling those feelings- practice being thankful for it all!
"Were created in gods perfect image and light"
The god or a god has created this whole experience for you. Since the god of your understanding has this power this means that power also resides within all of us. We're such valuable and beautiful beings that need to hold ourselves accountable to avoid spending too much time ruminating or feeling bad for ourselves. This whole experience is precious. Approach life in a biological and honest way . Help yourself make this experience more enjoyable. The great stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelias put it simply, "“Get busy with life’s purpose, toss aside empty hopes, get active in your own rescue—if you care for yourself at all—and do it while you can.” Ask yourself, Aren't you worthy of that? The next time you're feeling down about that guy not texting you back, a recent heart break, or even the loss of a loved one-remember your power. The mind, body, and soul you possess is a powerful tool.
